Battle of Bunker Hill By:Breck In the battle of Bunker Hill the Continental Army retreated, but they won the battle. They won because they drove the British Army back twice and shot a lot of British troops. They retreated because they ran out of ammo and they weren't good at hand-to-hand combat. The captain for the British Army was General Sir William Howe. The captain for the Continental Army was General Artemas Ward. Many Continental men were killed but more British men were killed.
